About this course
Unit 1 is where the AS course starts: what a market is, how a business finds one, and how it organises the people who serve it.
Taught in the order the paper asks for it, with the calculation topics (market size, market share, elasticity) practised until they are quick rather than merely understood.
What you will be able to do
- Analyse a market and the business trying to enter it
- Calculate and interpret elasticity, market share and margins
- Argue a marketing decision both ways and reach a judgement
- Answer Unit 1 to time, in the format the mark scheme rewards
